Get Taken Away By Taken

With Valentine's day quickly approaching and lovers are looking to plan out their romantic night, many will head to the movie theaters. Being a female with a strong love for romance and having a boyfriend who is a die-hard action movie fan, I've learned that movies like Taken, starring Liam Nelson and Famkee Janssen,(Also known as Jean from X-men), are a perfect fit for a perfect date night

Taken is a movie filled with tons of action complemented by a heroic love story of a father's quest to rescue his daughter from Albanian smugglers looking to sell her as a sex slave. In the beginning, Nelson's character Bryan Mills is shown as a CIA agent whom neglected his family in the name of his country. Now retired, Mills is looking to reconnect with his teenage daughter to heal their relationship, much to her mother's disliking.



Mills' daughter Kim has been invited to spend the summer in Paris with her best friend Amanda and their family. Although her mother agrees, Mills is very reluctant, citing his experience as a CIA agent as the source of his worries for his daugher traveling overseas. Filled with guilt by Kim and her mother, Mills reluctantly agrees, and the worst in fact does happen, leaving Mills to the fight of his life across seas to rescue his daughter.

The reason why I fell in love with this story is because it had just the right amount of action and romance to make a balanced date. Let's face it ladies, it's very rare to find a guy who will sit through a movie like The Notebook and be happy with you afterwords. On the other hand, if you give him a little action to sit through, the experience will be shared and exciting for both of you.
